On October 4, the Global Foundation convened an online session with Dr Keyu Jin, Harvard-educated economist, tenured professor at the London School of Economics, and author of the newly released The New China Playbook. The session was kindly hosted by Foundation Key Partner, Mr Darren McClafferty, Partner of King & Wood Mallesons.

Dr Jin is world-renowned for her expertise in both Eastern and Western economic landscapes. During the session, she provided firsthand insights into The New China Playbook, deepening our understanding of China’s economy and contemporary internal dynamics.

Although China’s economy is one of the largest in the world, Western understanding of it is often based on dated assumptions and incomplete information. As distinguished American economist Kenneth Rogoff says in his endorsement of The New China Playbook: ‘Anyone who wants to understand China and how to engage with it economically and politically will greatly benefit from this deeply original book.’

Keyu Jin is a trusted friend of the Foundation, having been a leading contributor to our Global Roundtable Series in Rome in 2018 and London in 2019, as well as the guest of honour at a 2019 dinner hosted in Sydney by our Key Partner, King & Wood Mallesons.
