My research focuses on the challenges and opportunities available in translating the information and models of climate science into business values. At the heart of this research lies the question - is our global financial infrastructure fit for purpose in the face of climate change. I would be happy to contribute to the discussion in this regard.

The following are some of our actions that support the Accord- We ran an online pre-COP26 symposium outlining specific actions to address the climate and biodiversity crises; we have applied for observer status at COP28; We have proposed specific funding for the IUCN's Red list of critical ecosystems; we will have a new capacity building site available in Sept. 2022 that will help LMIC governments to build and sustain their capacity to deliver programs that address the challenges outlined in the Accord; we published a call to action in the BMJ that outlines specific actions institutions can take that will address inequities in partnerships between HICs and LMICs.

Let's be clear: net-zero by 2050 will only be possible with real systems change in the financial system.

In that context, I was delighted to join the The Global Foundation for a forward-looking discussion on opportunities to better align financing with global climate goals.

Three areas stand out as low-hanging fruit from my vantage point at the intersect of private enterprise and government:

-- reform of multilateral development banks governance and operating models, ensuring they are equipped to manage risk more dynamically to support the provision of capital where it is needed the most.

-- global agreement on standardized ESG reporting metrics under the auspices of the ISSB.

-- progressive alignment of the US$10 trillion trade finance market with global sustainability goals, leveraging ICC's forthcoming Sustainable Trade Framework.

Looking forward to our future collaboration with the Assisi signatories and to launching the first pilot of the ICC STF at #COP27 in November. Stay tuned!!
